Popular trading platform eToro is further expanding its cryptocurrency portfolio with the addition of science-focused crypto asset, Cardano (ADA). This makes it the eleventh asset the exchange has added to its CopyFund cryptocurrency portfolio since its inception one year ago in June 2017. The fund launched with only Bitcoin and Ethereum, but now includes Litecoin, Ripple, Dash, Bitcoin Cash, Stellar, Eth Classic, NEO and EOS.
eToro CEO Yoni Assia says the company is committed to bringing all the top crypto assets to its platform to meet the growing interest in the market. A strong supporter of crypto himself, Assia compares the current crypto market to that of the post-2000 tech boom that saw Apple lose $195 million before growing to the $900 billion giant it is today. The company is looking to open a trading desk in London later this year, following its entry into the US last month.
Cardano recently came second in the ‘leading company’ category at the Blockshow Europe awards and last week ADA was listed on popular Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb. ADA is currently the 8th largest cryptocurrency, trading at almost US$0.16 with a market cap of just over US$4 billion.
Blockchain development company Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK) recently launched it’s KEVM Ethereum-based testnet on the Cardano platform. The project is a major step towards the development of 3rd-generation blockchains and a huge boost for Cardano and the ADA cryptocurrency.
