One of the biggest stock exchanges in Europe, Börse Stuttgart, has entered a closed testing phase of their new cryptocurrency app, Bison.
Reports had teased that Börse Stuttgart would be developing an app in a bid to offer cryptocurrencies to a large market of retail investors. While internal testing of a prototype has commenced, users won’t be able to use the platform before September.
A translation of their website reads:
Bison simplifies trading in digital currencies. It is the world’s first crypto app, behind which stands a traditional stock exchange. The prototype of the app already exists, the finished product will be available for free from autumn.”
Plucky investors can participate in a competition which is running as they prep the first public release, with the exchange giving away over three Bitcoins.
In a bid to translate widely used tools for traditional stock markets and forex, the Bison platform will launch with a market sentiment analyzer built-in, derived from ‘more than 250,000 tweets from the crypto community every day’.
Investors will only be able to purchase and exchange Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Ripple in the beginning, with more added over time.
Once Bison launches, it will be the world’s first cryptocurrency exchange backed by a traditional stock exchange.
