Wirex Expands into Asia and Adds Support for Business Accounts, Easier Crypto Cashouts

UK-based crypto wallet provider Wirex has announced the launch of a new version of its software and an expansion into the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Wirex, headquartered in London, is one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency debit card providers and recently added IBAN support for all European users, making it easier to transfer money internationally. It offers a VISA debit card that can be pre-loaded with several cryptocurrencies as well as British pounds (GBP), US dollar (USD) and Euro (EUR).

The new version also includes a host of features including the addition of several new fiat currencies and bank transfers via Swift, SEPA or Faster Payments. This will make it far easier for customers to easily cash out cryptocurrency to their bank account. In addition, Wirex has promised to keep transfer charges at cost-effective “over-the-counter” (OTC) rates, a feature most crypto wallets don’t offer.

Crypto-friendly Business Accounts

One of the upgrades most impressive new features is the world’s first ever crypto-friendly business accounts. Currently only available for desktop in the beta version of the upgrade, the service will allow businesses to set up an account and make and receive payments in both fiat and cryptocurrencies. International transactions can be made via SEPA, Swift or blockchain and charges will also be offered at OTC rates.

At present, the new version supports Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and XRP, and fiat currencies in British pounds and Euro. The new development will make it possible for fintech companies to eventually operate all their business within the crypto space and further remove the need for expensive and out-dated traditional banks. According to Wirex, the business accounts will offer all the same benefits that companies enjoy with traditional bank accounts.
